We are often asked what makes a company choose MAP4.
There are, after all, many more well-known, and cheaper, products on the market. Sage and Pegasus, for example are higher profile and perhaps glitzier, with more users than MAP4. Yet still we continue to attract many customers who already use those products.
We believe that the majority of companies see beyond the glitz and know what is really important.
A core business system needs to be robust and reliable. Yes, it must, of course, perform all the normal daily functions expected of it, like invoice production, stock control etc. Yet a system that is 100% reliable, doesn’t crash, doesn’t get viruses and doesn’t need expensive IT professionals to run it should be very high on the priority list. Couple that with top-notch customer support and we believe we have the answer.
So do MAP4 users. |

MAP4 NEWS
BRIEFS
Some recent MAP4 enhancements
and modifications which we hope
you find of interest.
New facilities to create and maintain
a Purchase Order ‘Shopping List’ have been added to MAP4.
Whilst entering a Sales Order,
MAP4 will detect whenever there is
insufficient free stock to satisfy the
order and request whether the item is
to be added to the ‘Shopping List’.
At any time during the day, you will
have the option of editing the‘Shopping List’, adding stock items
to the list, or deleting items from the
list.
MAP4 will then automatically create
the Purchase Orders, for either an
individual supplier or all of your
suppliers, for printing or faxing.

|
System Event Logging.
MAP4 already maintains a System
Event Log which ecords all supervisory
aspects of the system such as
backups, restores, rebuilds etc.
This facility has now been enhanced
such that all system activity is now
logged by individual operator.
This will provide us with additional
information to help us diagnose
problems reported to us by our users
and, therefore, resolve them more
speedily.

Welcome
Clearly a man of vision, David Morgan of Express
Bearings & Transmissions, first enquired about MAP4 in November 1995, just 10 months after starting the business. It was to turn out to be nearly 7 years later before they finally ordered the system, but it was well worth the wait!
As one of the largest independent stockholders of bearing and power transmission equipment in the Southwest, their Sage system was unable to
cope with their increasing stock control and sales demands.
A 5 user networked MAP4 System was duly ordered and installed at their Shepton Mallet offices.
A predominantly family-run business, Express Bearings have built the business on a reputation for service, with a fleet of dedicated delivery vehicles ensuring that their customers are never let down.
They occupy unmistakeable premises, being located in a Bavarian brewery, famous for being the first
brewery in the UK to brew lager. Imagine our disappointment, at our first meeting, on discovering that production had ceased in the early 1900s!
Thanks to David and his staff for purchasing MAP4. It is, as always, very much appreciated. |

Bank Reconciliation
New facilities to reconcile a nominal cash account to a bank statement have been added to MAP4.
The function lets the operator view debit transactions, credit transactions or both and allows them to select transactions which appear on the statement and hence
are to be included in the reconciliation.
A reconciliation report is also provided.
When the statement has been successfully reconciled a
Reconciliation Complete function may be run which will result in the reconciled transactions being cleared. |
